Well Day 1 has come and gone with a swanky kick-off at theWit. If you didn’t get to make it — you missed out on great apps, better drinks and even better company.
We raised a few hundred dollars for The Carole Robertson Center for Learning and if you’re in Chicago and you aren’t familiar with these folks, click that link and fix that. This incredible organization is trying to help kids get a solid start, before they have a chance to veer off the path of good to one that is well, no so good.
I got a huge surprise and learned a very valuable lesson. Click Here to read about both.

Day 2 started with a beautiful Amtrak ride up from Chicago to Miwaukee where I finally made my pilgrimage to AJ Bombers. Then it was off to the DoubleTree for night 2 of the 10 day tour and raising money for Hunger Task Force. Picked up another simple success lesson here… powered by those yummy DoubleTree Cookies.

Day 3 finds me in Beantown the day before the World Series starts. Had to make a trip to Cheers — it was my favorite show as a kid — and then down to Fenway for World Series swag. Then we were off to Stoddards, who was kind enough to host the event. Unfortunately with a city wide conference, the DoubleTree meeting and event space was sold out. But they were kind enough to let me host it elsewhere — which really shows that they get this tour. It’s not just a marketing event for them… they’re committed to the cause.
And of course, like the first two cities… I learned a thing or two

We rolled into the Big Apple today via the Acela and settled in for a fabulous rooftop party with hosts Tim McDonald and Bob Knorpp to help NoKidHungry. And with each event, I learned something. Sad thing about this one — I know better or should have known better. But just proves we’re all moving to fast to stop and really focus on the little details that can make a huge difference. So maybe this post will help you not repeat my mistakes

Our nation’s capital is my home for the day. And the DoubleTree Crystal City — just steps from the Pentagon — plays host to tonight’s #ivs4charity event. This will be the biggest event so far and it easily generated the largest donation of any event. And just like the stops before it, DC taught me an important lesson.

Hotlanta was a little chilly but a great time. As the first event on a Friday night, and located in a big city known for ferocious traffic, I (and the hosts) were really worried about turnout. The trend of lower turnout on weekend nights continued and drove home a major learning point of the tour experiment.

Easily the hardest day of the tour thus far. Not only am I exhausted, I had to make a decision that just killed me to make. But as with all things, Nashville completed an education that begun in Chicago and Atlanta.
